2010 Chrysler Sebring and 2010 Dodge Avenger earn top safety Award

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Beauty and elegance can never "overtake" the safety aspect on a car buyer's list of most important features. Chrysler Group LLC is aware of this golden fact and that's clearly evident when they employed more than 30 safety and security features in the 2010 Chrysler Sebring and 2010 Dodge Avenger. The automaker's commitment to provide maximum protection to its customers has reaped rich dividends when the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) bestowed the 2009 Top Safety Pick ratings upon the two models. These achievements highlight Chrysler's leadership in safety and security technology and occupant protection.

Town and Country, the Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealer in Wilsonville has both the models in its wide inventory and is proud to sell the safest vehicles to its customers. A vehicle that earns the IIHS’ Top Safety Pick designation provides the best overall protection in the three most common kinds of crashes. 2010 Chrysler Sebring and 2010 Dodge Avenger passed the tough criteria of Top-level crash-test performance and electronic stability control (ESC) to earn the coveted award. ESC is not something every midsize vehicle can claim which makes the Chrysler models the safest in the midsize sedan segment.

According to the IIHS results, both models have passive features, including pre-tensioning seat belt retractors and supplemental side-curtain air bags, which are combined with accident-avoidance features, including responsive steering, braking, and handling. Other safety and security features available in the models are Brake Assist and ABS, driver and front-passenger active head restraints, front seat-mounted side airbags and advanced multi-stage front airbags. The two vehicles also are equipped with Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH) for child safety seats.
